Activated carbon is an all-natural product that has been used for centuries for cleaning and filtering air and water.
It was born from the idea of a Swedish company which, in collaboration with chemists and researchers from the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, first of all studied what caused bad smell in shoes, noting that the humidity that formed and remained in the shoe for a long time was one of the most important factors. Activated bamboo charcoal proved to be perfect for absorbing it quickly.
So they designed a product that would, first of all, absorb moisture, in combination with materials that would actually remove the odors already built up in the shoe.
Activated bamboo charcoal is also environmentally friendly : it is very fast growing, which means that there is no deforestation for the production of Smell Well.
The other components of the bags are salts and minerals with hygroscopic properties , infused in a fresh scent which is transmitted to the shoe.
Smell Well: non woven casing and non-toxic inks
The casing that contains them is a non-woven fabric, a transpiring membrane that does not hinder their work and, on the contrary, favors the transport of humidity and bad smells from the shoe into the bag.
Outside, a microfiber cover (always breathable) protects the bag. The colors of the real prints are eco-friendly.
